Micromate Microphones
Air pressure changes produced by blasting or demolition can be damaging to nearby structures. When levels are high enough, air overpressure can break windows, damage electronic equipment and set off car alarms. Understandably, when a home or building owner hears their windows rattle, they believe that their property is being damaged. The Micromate air overpressure microphone is designed to monitor these changes on a linear scale so you can be sure you are within industry guidelines. Recording of air overpressure can also be a best practice for construction companies, mines and quarries to protect against complaints or liability claims.
There are two micromate microphones designed for the Micromate monitoring unit, so you can synchronize the recording of vibration with air overpressure or sound/noise.
The Sound Level Microphone for the Micromate, also called a noise microphone, can perform unattended monitoring of noise in applications such as construction, traffic, quarries, or open pit mining operations. Safe guidelines have been developed which provide limits on the level of noise that can be induced in urban environments or to protect the safety of nearby workers. The Sound Level Microphone meets the requirements for IEC 61672 Class 1 specifications, which include A and C weighted specifications.

The microphones for the Micromate connect directly to the color-coded microphone port on the monitoring unit. Each microphone comes with a metal microphone stand for mounting and a 2m or 5m cable. Custom cable lengths of up to 75m are available upon request.
