2.8″ Gauge Block

This 2.8″ Gauge Block is a machined aluminum cylinder, 2.79 in. diameter by 8 in. long with scribe marks at 1 in. intervals. Used in conjunction with S-47328, S-57750, or S-57729  for remolding cohesive soils with equal layer thickness. Equal masses of soil are placed in the mold and the layer height is achieved by tapping the cylinder with a rubber mallet (Model G-510), using the scribe marks for reference.
