- Turn sound off, so you can concentrate on the action rather than the record sound.
- Tap Options > Survey Control.
- Make a change. It is best to experiment with just one change at a time rather than making lots of changes all at once.
- Tap "done" - the checkmark - to save the change.
- If the Reader depth is shallower than your cable depth, try setting "pull lockout" to 3 or a higher number. This tells the Reader to delay longer before accepting new input. You'll see that the "saved" message appears for 3 seconds now. Experiment to find the right lockout timing. New users need a longer lockout, while expert users may prefer a shorter lockout.
- If your cable depth is shallower than your Reader depth, try setting "motion" to a lower number, for example 80. Users who pull slowly need a lower number. Users who pull quickly can use a higher number.
- If there is a lot of ground vibration at your site, you might need to use "Tap" mode, but you could try setting "motion" to a higher number and then pull quickly rather than slowly. The higher number decreases sensitivity to the ground motion, so you must accelerate the probe faster so that a pull can be detected.
