Proctor Penetrometer Test Set
Description
The S-172 proctor penetrometer test set serves as a rapid field test to determine the approximate amount of moisture in the soil. It is used with Methods A and B of Test Method D 698 to develop relationships between moisture content, density and penetration resistance.
The set includes a spring dynamometer with a scale on the stem of the handle graduated from 10 lb to 130 lb and seven interchangeable needles in a wooden box with carrying handle.
