Position Summary
The primary role of the Mechanical Assembly Technician is to complete the general assembly, repair, calibration, soldering and trouble shooting of various Materials Testing, Environmental Remediation, and Geotechnical Instrumentation products. This position reports to the Assembly Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, test and calibrate electronic, mechanical, and electrolytic components as required; Fabrication of some components may be required
- Operate test and calibration equipment used by the instrument shop
- Read, interpret and understand written or verbal requirements, procedures, and specifications in order to perform assigned tasks
- Identify non-conforming parts/materials during assembly process and notify supervisor
- Assume responsibility for in-house quality control – adhere to ISO 9001:2015 procedures
- Maintain conformance with Company’s regulations, policies and procedures
- Maintain good housekeeping and exercise safe work practices
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Experience, Skills, and Education
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Excellent hand / eye coordination
- Must be able to use a variety of small hand tools such as hammers, screw drivers, soldering equipment, etc
- Attention to detail and a high commitment to quality
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Good written and oral communication skills
Equipment Used and Working Conditions
- A variety of small hand tools including soldering equipment
- Lifting loads up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
Compensation
- From $16/hour, dependent on experience
- 2 weeks paid vacation time
